I started my teaching career as a 12th grade ELD teacher at San Diego High School and as an English teacher at Madison High School. I was a project-based learning teacher for 15 years at High Tech High as a founding 8th grade teacher at HTMMA in 2005, a founding teacher at HTMCV in 2011, a K-5 Exploratory Science teacher at HTeX and a 5th and 3rd grade teacher at HTe. I moved to England for a year to work with Innovation Unit where I had the privilege of working with wonderful teachers and students interested in implementing project-based learning at their schools, for the first time. I was also able to travel to Australia to continue working with schools interested in PBL with Engaged Learning. For three years, I was a STEAM Resource Teacher in San Diego Unified School District, where I designed and wrote curriculum and worked on an EIR (Education Innovation and Research) Grant with Coding Our Future working to bring computer science to ALL teachers and students.

Moving to San Diego from LA, I earned my undergraduate degree in Literature/Writing, my teaching credential and a Masters in Education at UCSD.  I completed work for my second Masters in Teacher Leadership through the HTH Graduate School of Education where I focused on social entrepreneurship, empowerment and engagement in my classroom.

I am so excited to be starting a new learning adventure teaching 6th grade Humanities at High Tech Middle Mesa this year! Teaching middle school within the HTH community is my professional joy and passion! My personal joy is laughing, playing and being outdoors with family and friends.
